The annual conference on Chinese Law held by the European China Law Studies Association (ECLS) provided insights into the normative and structural underpinnings of the Chinese legal system by reflecting upon China’s historic, cultural and socio-economic influences. The conference provides a valuable opportunity to distance oneself from preconceived rigid legal concepts and to develop a flexible and broad-minded approach towards certain features of Chinese legal thinking.Downloads
