Open Access Policy

Beginning in 2025, new ZChinR/GJCL articles are being published under a CC BY 4.0 Creative Commons license. Copyright and publication rights thus remain with the authors. Users may read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, link to, or use the full texts of articles for any lawful purpose in accordance with the CC license and without first obtaining permission from the Journal or the authors. This is in line with the open access definition found in the 2002 Budapest Open Access Initiative.

Publication in the ZChinR/GJCL does not entail any ASCs (article submission charges) or APCs (article processing charges). The submission of articles as well as the review procedure undertaken in the editorial office are free of charge for authors. This is made possible by the support of the German-Chinese Jurists’ Association (DCJV) in cooperation with the other entities responsible for publication of the Journal.

The following applies to earlier ZChinR/GJCL articles up to and including those published in the 2024 volume: When done for non-commercial purposes, users are permitted to retrieve publicly available ZChinR/GJCL articles and download, print, and copy the files, provided that the textual integrity of the article and its components is preserved. Furthermore, excerpts from articles may be translated and cited in academic work, provided that the source is cited in accordance with academic standards, this including provision of the author’s name, the article title, the journal name, the issue number, the year of publication, the page number(s), and the DOI.
